Hem, Border, and Edging Stitches

Note: The bottom edge of these diagrams represent the edge/fold of your fabric (or slit for a buttonhole). The Feather Stitch is an exception to this. It is used often in patchwork quilts and is stitched over the seam of two adjoining pieces of fabric.
: Button Hole Stitch
: Blanket Stitch is the same as the Button Hole stitch but spaced farther appart.

: Feather Stitch was a popular stitch in patchwork quilts. It can be used in many ways including as a filling stitch.
